A money manager with strong views on politics and economics

LarryLA was born May 15, 1955 and resides in (surprise) Los Angeles. He was raised in New York City abd moved to Los Angeles in 1994. Currently he works in financial services, managing investments for individuals and non-profit organizations. LarryLA has worked over twenty years in the financial markets, working with both domestic and international investments at major commercial and investment banks. He has also held research positions in the area of international affairs and international economics.

LarryLA has a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia Univesity, an MA in International Affairs from the University of Chicago and an M.Phil in Political Science as well as a Certificate from the Middle East Institute at Columbia Univesity. While working in financial services he obtained his MBA form the NYU Stern School of Business, specializing in International Finance.

LarryLA is active in the Jewish community in Los Angeles. His interests include hiking, biking and enjoying the outdoor LA lifestyle He also participates in the jewish life of LA with active membership in his congregation and participation in adult education. He enjoys reading history, judaica,current affairs and current fiction as well as watching non-Hollywood blockbuster films.

LarryLA keeps up on current affairs by devouring those bastions of the biased liberal media: The New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times and NPR radio. But he also reads the Wall Street Journal on a daily basis and keeps up with FOX News, AM talk radio and the business press. Other sources of information include the websites for the Jerusalem Post, Haaretz newspaper of Israel and Al Jazeera. He also reviews a wide variety of opinion journals, websites and blogs of all persuasions. In other words lots of information and opinion goes into the input side before the ouput is posted on this blog.
